Most people think of article submission to article directories as article marketing. However there are alternative article marketing strategies that can be used to promote your website

Here some other strategies you can use to keep your articles working for you.

As well as submitting articles to the article directories, you can also submit them directly to ezine publishers. Compile a list of ezine publishers in your niche and offer yout articles to them. Most ezine and newsletter publishers are on the look out for quality articles.

Create an article blog of your own.
Blogs usually get indexed quickly by the search engines as every time a new post is added the blog automatically ‘pings’ the search engines, who then index new posts. You can use other people’s blogs to gain interest in your articles. One way to do this is to make comments on other people’s blogs that have related content, and use a link in your comment to direct them to your blog or website. Use niche membership sites and forums
Join membership sites that are focused on your niche area and include links back to your site in your signature. Often as a member of these members only sites you are able to post  articles. also you can  post articles to industry specific forums.

Use your own website
You write articles to get people to your website, yet many people forget to post their own articles there. Your website needs information.  Why not provide that with information you have already written? You can also provide permission for people to use your articles from your website, with the condition of providing a link back to your site. Alternatively you can set up a zipped file on your website of all your articles. Allow anyone who asks to download this file and use it as they want as long as the articles are not changed and your author information is included.  Let others know of this file through your email signature.

Create an ebook
Compiling all the articles you have written into a free ebook is another avenue.  All you need do is create a PDF file.  This allows you to announce the ebook in directories set up for just that purpose.  Allowing others to give the ebook away is also a good strategy.

Create an email course

You can use your articles as the lessons in an email course. This course should be offered free of charge. Put a sign up box on your website, set up an autoresponder to send the material at scheduled times and you are set to go. This has too advantages; it gets your material out there and it helps build a mailing list for you.
